Iain is a reader in Machine Learning at The University of Edinburgh. He graduated from Cambridge, did his PhD at UCL and postdoc in Toronto. Iain has a wide range of interests including deep learning, unsupervised learning, MCMC methods, Bayesian inference, and cosmology. Iain is currently applying recent breakthroughs in machine learning to the fields of science and engineering.

Steve is professor in Speech Technology at The University of Edinburgh. Steve has been Director of the Centre for Speech Technology Research for a number of years. His research studies human communication using machine learning techniques.

Some of their publications and conferences are quite interesting, but they have become too commercial in the last few years.

I started listening to them as a way to mitigate my insomnia. However, most are so interesting that they keep me awake longer.
